Please tell us a little bit about yourself:

I consider myself to be a simple, humble and a dedicated young man. I like to share joy and be happy, to think differently, to make unlikely things my new goals. The people I have met and the experiences that life has given me, have made me who I am today— I am happy. As a young barista I continue to have dreams and to work every day with a lot of motivation, dedication, giving part of me in everything I do.

What are you excited to do while you are in Amsterdam?:

Being with my family and friends that I have there, and being able to share with my professional family, a little of what I lived there.

Please list the coffee competitions you have participated in, what year they took place, and your results:

2017 National Barista Championship in Portugal – 1st Place

Is there anyone you would like to thank or recognize, or who helped you to prepare for the WBC?:

I am very proud to be able to thank my professional family who’ve accompany me on this journey and made this unique experience possible.

How do you see the coffee industry changing in the future?:

Coffee production will change in the future, which will create new realities, new markets and new needs. And I’m going to work and grow to be ready.

Where do you see yourself in 5 years?:

I do not know where I will be in the future, but I have the dream of teaching, sharing knowledge and motivating other young people, for this art of being a barista and for the passion of coffee.

What are your interests outside of coffee?:

Spending time with my family, colleagues, friends and whenever the time allows me to travel in search of adventures and to know cultures.
